The 437th Airlift Wing provides a significant portion of the Air Mobility Command’s Global Reach airlift capability. The 437 AW is responsible for flying and maintaining the C-17 Globemaster III jet cargo aircraft. Its mission is to command assigned airlift and supporting units; provide for the airlift of troops and passengers, military equipment, cargo and aeromedical airlift. The group consists of the following aviation squadrons: 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th Airlift Squadrons. Charleston AFB also includes the 315th Airlift Wing with the 300th Airlift Squadron.
