The C-17 System Program Office (SPO) is the US Air Force Organization responsible for the safe and effective operation of the C-17 Globemaster III. They are part of the Life Cycle Management Center of Air Force Material Command and are responsible for sustainment, new modifications, tech orders, and overall health of the C-17 Fleet.  Their Sustainment concept includes 222 USAF aircraft in Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve Units and 52 acft of 8 Int’l partners. Portions of the Program Office are at both Robins AFB, GA (HQ and majority of personnel) and Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The Mission of the C-17 Program Office Team Globemaster is to provide: Safe, Effective, and Unrivaled Global Reach capability” (as depicted in this artwork).

The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas. The C-17 commonly performs tactical and strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include medical evacuation and airdrop duties.
