The 779th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron (779 EAS) is a provisional United State Air Force unit assigned to the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing of United States Air Forces Central, stationed at Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait. It is under the control of Air Mobility Command (AMC) and operates the C-130H Hercules and C-130J Super Hercules as part of the Global War on Terrorism. Ali Al Salem AB is dubbed the “The Rock” because it is on elevated ground above the surrounding desert.

This “779th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron C-130” poster is dedicated to all the hard working men and women stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait supporting C-130 air mobility missions.
The 779th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron is a provisional United States Air Force unit. It is assigned to the 386th Air Expeditionary Group, stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait. The 779 EAS is equipped with C-130H Hercules and C-130J Super Hercules transports and supports Coalition forces engaging in combat operations as part of the Global War on Terrorism.
The mission of the 779 EAS is to provide intra-theater tactical airlift, airdrop, aero medical evacuation and humanitarian relief for personnel, equipment and supplies through out their assigned areas of responsibility. Ali Al Salem Air Base is a military base about 39miles from the border of Iraq and is under the supervision of the Kuwaiti Air Force with help of the United States Air Force. It is dubbed “The Rock” because it is positioned on an elevated ground above the surrounding desert plains.
