The 43 Operation Support Squadron (43d OSS) is part of the 43 Air Mobility Operations Group at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. They support the 82d Airborne and 18th Airborne Core with all Airdrop operations utilizing C130s and C17s from world wide locations. The nearest city is Fayetteville, NC also known as Fayet-NAM to some. The 43d OSS motto is “Seldom Seen, Always There” hence the “Panther” as their mascot. They consist of: Pilots, Loadmasters, Tower personnel, and HARM that rounds out their OSS skill set. Pope Field was established in 1919.
