NAS North Island HSC-6 Art
Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 6 (HSC-6) is a Navy helicopter squadron, established in 1956, celebrating over 70 years of successful maritime service, providing reliable and combat ready helicopters always ready to “Rescue. Protect. Deliver.” The squadron was commissioned as Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 6 (HS-6) and completed transition to Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) on 8 July 2011 as part of a merger of the HC and helicopter anti-submarine (HS) communities. The change came as a result of the introduction of the MH-60S “Seahawk,” replacing UH-3H Sea King and the SH-60F/H Seahawk. Based at Naval Air Station North Island, HSC-6 is part of Carrier Air Wing 17 and deployed aboard the mighty aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) until 2026.
