The United States Navy has the 2nd largest air force in the world, 2nd only to the US Air Force. Navy pilots provide attack support from logistically advantageous locations at sea and may help with search and rescue, provide medical evacuation assistance, conduct intelligence and provide aviation striking power. They receive sophisticated training that allows individuals to fly high-tech aircraft all over the world. Not only do they receive training to learn how to fly specific aircraft, but their training also involves learning one of the hardest tasks, taking off and landing from an aircraft carrier at sea.
T-44 Pegasus: The U.S. military has used King Air 90s in various roles, primarily VIP and liaison transport, with designations including the VC-6A, the T-44 Pegasus, and the U-21 Ute. The U-21 Ute used by the US Army was the most common version.
The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II is a single-engine turboprop aircraft built by the Raytheon Aircraft Company (which became Hawker Beechcraft and later Beechcraft Defense Company, and was bought by Textron Aviation in 2014). A trainer aircraft based on the Pilatus PC-9, the T-6 has replaced the United States Air Force’s Cessna T-37B Tweet and the United States Navy’s T-34C Turbo Mentor.
