March ARB 701 COS

March ARB 701 COS poster art.

The 701st Combat Operations Squadron (701 COS) provides well-trained, experienced Air Operations Center warfighters to support the Korean Theater of Operations in joint and combined exercises during peacetime and real-world operations in time of war. The 701 COS augments the 607th Air Operations Center, Osan AB, Republic of Korea, as part of the senior decision-making element for the Combined Forces Air Component Commander and integrates seamlessly with active duty forces in command and control of theater combat air forces. The 701 COS provides expert personnel in the areas of combat operations, combat plans, intelligence, strategy, communications and logistics. The 701 COS, March Air Reserve Base, California, is assigned to the 610th Air Operations Group, March Air Reserve Base, California.

The Air Operations Center weapon system, the AN/USQ-163 “Falconer”, is the senior element of the Theater Air Control System that provides the Combined Forces Air Component Commander with the capability to direct and supervise the combat operations of assigned and attached forces and to monitor the actions of both enemy and friendly forces. The AOC develops strategy and planning documents, monitors the execution of all air, space and information operations and provides combat assessment in support of the combatant commander’s guidance and objectives.
