The 436th Operations Support Squadron delivers operations support to 436th and 512th Airlift Wings. Enables combat employment of C – 5M and C – 17A aircraft, flying airlift missions worldwide. Manages airlift planning/scheduling, aircrew training, flight records, and combat tactics employment. Provides weather, intelligence, survival/evasion training, aircrew flight equipment, and jet side services. Conducts tower/radar approach air traffic control & operations management of 1.5M sq – ft airfield. The 436th OSS provides airfield operations management, air traffic control, aircrew flight equipment, combat tactics development and training, intelligence analysis, weather services, mission employment, and manages aircrew training supporting contingency operations, exercises, and higher headquarters taskings.
