The 22d Special Tactics Squadron (22d STS) is a U.S. Air Force special tactics unit focused on integrating airpower, space, and cyber capabilities with joint force operations. “Chop Wood Carry Water,” reflects the squadron’s emphasis on discipline, preparation, teamwork, and consistent effort. The design also incorporates the Special Tactics traditions represented by the mottos “First There” and “That Others May Live.” This piece honors the Airmen who have served with the 22d STS and their role in providing specialized solutions to complex operational challenges.
