Dyess AFB 7 MDG Art vintage style military aviation travel poster art by – Squadron Posters!
Dyess Air Force Base, located in Abilene, Texas, is home to the 7th Bomb Wing and 317th Airlift Wing, playing a critical role in global power projection and rapid mobility. As the Air Force’s premier base for the B-1B Lancer bomber, Dyess supports long-range precision strike capabilities that ensure mission success worldwide. The base is also a hub for tactical airlift, with C-130J Super Hercules aircraft delivering supplies and personnel to remote and austere locations. Known for its commitment to innovation and excellence, Dyess AFB embodies the spirit of the Lone Star State through its dedication to the mission and its vibrant community. This historic installation stands as a testament to the Airmen who ensure readiness and adaptability in an ever-changing global landscape.
The host unit at Dyess is the 7th Bomb Wing assigned to the Global Strike Command Eighth Air Force. The wing is one of only two B-1B Lancer strategic bomber wings in the USAF, the other being the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. The 317th Airlift Wing, assigned to Air Mobility Command Eighteenth Air Force, is a tenant unit and one of four world-wide active-duty locations for the C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft.
