Located in Wichita Falls, Texas, Sheppard Air Force Base is one of the U.S. Air Force’s premier training installations. It is home to the 82nd Training Wing and the 80th Flying Training Wing, host of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program (ENJJPT) — the world’s only multi-nationally manned and managed flying training program. The Northrop T-38 Talon has been a cornerstone of U.S. Air Force pilot training since its introduction in the 1960s. Still flown today at bases like Sheppard AFB and Joint Base San Antonio, the Talon’s reliability and agility have earned it a lasting legacy as the “White Rocket” of the training fleet.
The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II is a modern turboprop trainer used by the U.S. Air Force and Navy to prepare student pilots for advanced jet training. Combining digital avionics with agile handling, the T-6 provides an ideal platform for teaching basic flight skills and tactical maneuvers. At Sheppard AFB and across Air Education and Training Command, the Texan II continues the proud tradition of producing the world’s finest aviators.
