Kadena AB 77th FS vintage style military aviation travel poster art by – Squadron Posters!
Known as the “Keystone of the Pacific,” Kadena Air Base on Okinawa, Japan, is the largest U.S. Air Force installation in the Indo-Pacific region. Established during World War II and expanded throughout the Cold War, Kadena has long been a cornerstone of American power projection, deterrence, and regional security. Home to the 18th Wing, the Air Force’s largest combat wing, Kadena hosts a powerful mix of fighters, tankers, and reconnaissance aircraft, while also supporting joint and allied operations across the theater.
The 77th Fighter Squadron is part of the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. It operates the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft conducting air superiority missions. The squadron is one of the oldest in the United States Air Force, its origins dating to 20 February 1918, being organized at Rich Field, Waco Texas, as a pilot training Squadron during World War I. The squadron saw combat during World War II, and became part of the United States Air Forces in Europe during the Cold War. Check out this stunning Kadena AB 77th FS Art by Squadron Posters!
