“E-8 16th ACCS Jet Black Super Wide Canvas Print” with Floating Black Gallery Frame.

The 16th Airborne Command and Control Squadron (16th ACCS) is a unit of Air Combat Command of the U.S. Air Force, and flies the E-8C Joint STARS. Its parent unit is the 461st Air Control Wing, located at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. The 16 ACCS operates the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (J-STARS), an advanced ground surveillance and battle management system. J-STARS detects, locates, classifies, tracks and targets ground movements on the battlefield, communicating real-time information through secure data links with combat command posts.

The E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) is a U.S. Air Force Airborne ground surveillance, battle management and command and control aircraft by Northrop Grumman. It tracks ground vehicles and some aircraft, collects imagery, and relays tactical pictures to ground and air theater commanders. The aircraft is operated by both active duty Air Force and Air National Guard units and also carries specially trained U.S. Army personnel as additional flight crew.
