The 363d Training Squadron (363 TRS) is part of the 82d Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, Texas. The Munitions Flight is part of the 363 TRS and trains over 1.2K Technical Training Students each year, making it the largest training pipeline. Our AFSC is responsible for building, maintaining, inspecting, storing, and accounting for all explosives assigned to their given installation.
Sheppard Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located five miles north of the central business district of Wichita Falls, Texas. It is the largest training base and most diversified in Air Education and Training Command. The base is named in honor of Texas Senator John Morris Sheppard, a supporter of military preparations before World War II. It was officially opened as a United States Army Air Corps training center on 17 October 1941, following the arrival of the first military members on 14 June. As the Army Air Corps became the Army Air Forces, facilities were completed sufficiently to allow the first class of 22 aviation mechanics to enter training that October; the class graduated 23 February 1942.
