Fort Meade 75th IS Art vintage style military aviation travel poster art by – Squadron Posters!
The 75th Intelligence Squadron (75th IS)Â has been reactivated Aug. 7, 2023, under the 659th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group. The decision, outlined in a special order, signifies a strategic move to strengthen cyber operations and enhance national security. The 75th IS can trace its lineage back to its establishment as the 75th Radio Squadron, Mobile, Feb. 26, 1953. Despite facing periods of inactivity and dissolution, its proud heritage was revitalized upon its redesignation as the 75 Intelligence Squadron, July 14, 2015. Nevertheless, it was subsequently deactivated Sept. 18, 2020, as part of a broader realignment undertaken by the 16th Air Force.
Fort George G. Meade, located in Maryland, is a critical hub for U.S. military and intelligence operations. Established in 1917, the base has evolved into a center for cyber defense, housing agencies such as the National Security Agency (NSA), U.S. Cyber Command, and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Fort Meade supports a wide range of national security missions, with its strategic importance growing in the digital age. The installation plays a key role in protecting the nation’s information infrastructure and supporting military readiness across all branches.
