JB Langley-Eustis 633d CONS vintage style military aviation travel poster art by Squadron Posters!
Joint Base Langley–Eustis, located in Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, is a unique installation combining the U.S. Air Force’s Langley Air Force Base and the U.S. Army’s Fort Eustis. Formed in 2010 as part of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative, JBLE supports a wide range of missions, from air combat operations to Army transportation and logistics training.
Langley Air Force Base houses Air Combat Command and the 1st Fighter Wing, operating the F-22 Raptor and providing air dominance and rapid global response capabilities. Fort Eustis is home to the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and specializes in transportation, aviation maintenance, and logistics training. Together, the joint base ensures seamless coordination between air and ground operations while serving as a critical hub for training, readiness, and national defense.
The Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor is an American twin-engine, jet-powered, all-weather, supersonic stealth fighter aircraft. As a product of the United States Air Force’s Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) program, the aircraft was designed as an air superiority fighter, but also incorporates ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence capabilities. The prime contractor, Lockheed Martin, built most of the F-22 airframe and weapons systems and conducted final assembly, while program partner Boeing provided the wings, aft fuselage, avionics integration, and training systems.
