The 628th Communications Squadron (628 CS) is part of the 628th Air Mobility Wing at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. Home of the “Cyber Surfers”, it plans, installs, operates and maintains the full spectrum of joint communications systems and knowledge management services decisive to the successful mission execution of Joint Base Charleston and its tenant units.
The C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force from the 1980s to the early 1990s. The C-17 commonly performs tactical and strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include medical evacuation and airdrop duties.
