Scott AFB Air Force Communications Command Art.

The Air Force Communications Command (AFCC) was a major command of the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1991, responsible for managing the Air Force’s worldwide communications and information systems. It was originally established as the Army Airways Communications System (AACS) in 1938 and underwent several redesignations, including Air Force Communications Service (AFCS) before becoming AFCC. In 1991, AFCC transitioned to a Field Operating Agency, losing its major command status.
