Scott AFB Air Force Communications Command vintage style military aviation travel poster art by Squadron Posters!
The C-140 JetStar was a business jet adapted for U.S. Air Force service, primarily used for VIP transport, liaison duties, and flight inspection missions. Introduced in the early 1960s, it featured four turbojet engines mounted at the rear fuselage, a distinctive T-tail, and a pressurized cabin capable of seating up to 10 passengers. Renowned for its range, speed, and reliability, the JetStar served multiple military and government roles for decades, becoming a familiar sight at both domestic and international airfields.
Scott Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base in St. Clair County, Illinois, near Belleville and O’Fallon, 17 miles east-southeast of downtown St. Louis. Originally Scott Field, it was one of 32 Air Service training camps established after the United States entered World War I in April 1917. The present base serves as the headquarters of Air Mobility Command (AMC) and its showcase wing, and it is also the headquarters of the U.S. Transportation Command, a Unified Combatant Command that coordinates transportation across all the services.
