The 911th Air Refueling Squadron, part of the 305th Air Mobility Wing at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, operates the KC-46A Pegasus, executing multi-mission sorties with precision and efficiency. Approved for global deployments, including combat operations, the KC-46A is a critical asset in the Air Force’s aerial refueling fleet, with more in service than any tanker except the Boeing-built KC-135. With a fuel capacity of 212,000 pounds, the KC-46A supports a full spectrum of refueling missions while also enabling aeromedical evacuation, cargo transport, and passenger operations. The aircraft has offloaded more than 100 million pounds of fuel to receivers worldwide, providing unmatched support to U.S. and allied forces. The KC-46A’s advanced boom system extends a receiver envelope three times larger than the KC-135, ensuring greater flexibility and mission effectiveness.
