The 32d Student Squadron (32 STUS) is 1 of 4 squadrons at Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB, AL. The “Centurions” are one of the original units from 1950. It was designated “Group C.” When the school adopted unit mascots in 1969, Group C became known as the “Green Giants.” In 1985, the unit was renamed and replaced with its current designation as the “Centurions.” The squadron colors are green and gold. The squadron motto is “Nulli Secundus ” which is Latin for “Second to None,” and their cheer is “Strength and Honor!” The Centurions have educated over 26,500 USAF and international officers and DoD civilians in their service to SOS.
Maxwell Air Force Base, officially known as Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, is a United States Air Force installation under the Air Education and Training Command. The installation is located in Montgomery, Alabama. Occupying the site of the first Wright Flying School, it was named in honor of Second Lieutenant William C. Maxwell, a native of Atmore, Alabama.
