Learn To Fly, See The World poster art

The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington County, Virginia. As a symbol of the U.S. military, ‘the Pentagon’ is often used metonymically to refer to the U.S. Department of Defense. Ground was broken for construction on September 11, 1941, and the building was dedicated on January 15, 1943. General Brehon Somervell provided the major motive power behind the project; Colonel Leslie Groves was responsible for overseeing the project for the U.S. Army.  Those who work within its walls often simply call it ‘The Building,’ or the ‘Puzzle Palace’.
Hall of Heroes: Located on the Pentagon’s main concourse is the Hall of Heroes, a room dedicated to the more than 3,460 recipients of the Medal of Honor, the United States’ highest military decoration. The Medal of Honor is presented to its recipients in the name of the Congress of the United States and for that reason, is often referred to as the ‘Congressional Medal of Honor’.
