The 306th Flying Training Group is located at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and provides airmanship programs for 2,500 cadets annually at the Academy’s Davis Airfield in addition to the Initial Flight Training (IFT) program involving approximately 2,200 undergraduate flight training candidates annually at Pueblo Memorial Airport. The group ensures powered flight, soaring and parachuting courses contribute measurably to the leadership and character development of cadets. Davis Airfield is the home of the world – famous Parachute Team Wings of Blue, Cadet Soaring Instructor Pilot program, and the USAFA Precision Flying Team. The 306 FTG is comprised of 5 active – duty squadrons and supported by 1 reserve squadron: 306 OSS, 98 FTS (jump), 94 FTS (soaring), 557 FTS (powered flight), 1 FTS (IFT) and the 70 FTS (USAF reserve).
