Tyndall Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base in Panama City, Florida, about 12 miles east of the city. The base was named after 1st Lt. Frank Benjamin Tyndall, a World War I pilot. The 325th Fighter Wing of the Air Combat Command serves as the base operating unit and host wing. The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is an American single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force.
