The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band Corps of Cadets – Dark

The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band Corps of Cadets – (Dark grass version) vintage style art.

The Corps of Cadets was founded in 1876 with the creation of  The Agriculture and Mechanical College of Texas, which was established as an all-male military college. Texas A&M remained a primarily all-male military institution with mandatory membership in the Cadet Corps until 1964, when the school also began admitting women, and 1965 when Corps membership became voluntary.  Under federal law, Texas A&M University is one of six U.S. colleges that are classified as senior military colleges.

The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band is nationally known for its precision military marching formations on the football gridiron and is the largest military marching band in the nation. This 400+ member, Corps of Cadets unit is the official marching band of Texas A&M University. Performing at all home football games and several away games, this organization is one of the most traveled collegiate marching bands in the nation. The Aggie Band operates under strict military guidelines as an integral part of the Corps of Cadets. This poster shows  four members of the bugle rank with their bugles and banners.  There are twelve bugle rank members who lead the files of Aggie bandsmen behind them.   Senior cadets wear the Aggie boots.
