The 85th Flying Training Squadron is part of the United States Air Force 47th Flying Training Wing based at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. It operates T-6 Texan II aircraft conducting flight training. Based on the Pilatus PC-9, the T-6A is used by the United States Air Force for basic pilot training and by United States Naval aviation for Primary and Intermediate Joint Naval Flight Officer and Air Force Combat Systems Officer training.
