The primary U.S. military installation in the Stuttgart, Germany area is U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart (USAG Stuttgart), a joint-service community composed of five installations: Kelley Barracks, Panzer Kaserne, Patch Barracks, Robinson Barracks, and the Stuttgart Army Airfield. These installations support all branches of the U.S. military and host key combatant commands, including the headquarters for U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and U.S. European Command (EUCOM).

SOCEUR conducts these activities as part of the US effort to strengthen the military capabilities and security of partner nations in Europe and counter threats to the US and its European partners.
