U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart (Patch Barracks), serves as a key hub for U.S. military operations in Europe, hosting U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) headquarters. Located in southwestern Germany, the city plays a critical role in strategic planning, coordination, and support for operations across Europe, Africa, and surrounding regions. Known for its blend of modern infrastructure and deep historical roots, Stuttgart is also situated within close reach of Bavaria, the Black Forest, and iconic landmarks such as Neuschwanstein Castle. Kastel is the historical bridgehead of Mainz, the capital of the German state Rhineland-Palatinate and is located on the right side of the Rhine river. Kastel faces the historical center of Mainz and the two cities are connected by a road bridge. Kastel is located about one kilometer below the mouth of the river Main, where it flows into the Rhine.
