The TH-73A Thrasher is the military variant of the commercially available Leonardo AW119T. First delivered to the Navy in August 2021, the Thrasher is utilized for undergraduate rotary and tilt-rotor pilot training for the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and selected allied nations with current and relevant training platforms. The TH-73A offers modern avionics with integrated flight management systems; enhanced night vision training capability including an IR searchlight, IR position lights, and formation lighting.
Naval Air Station Whiting Field – South, also known as South Whiting Field, is located three miles north of the central business district of Milton, in Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. This military airport is owned by the US Navy. It is one of two airfields located at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, the other airfield being NAS Whiting Field – North. This airport is assigned a three-letter location identifier of NDZ by the Federal Aviation Administration, but it does not have an International Air Transport Association (IATA) airport code.
