HMHT-302 is part of the 2D Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS New River, North Carolina. HMHT-302 is the fleet replacement squadron to train and create qualified CH- 53E copilots. It’s mission is to conduct core introduction assault support heavy lift training in the CH-53E Super Stallion and fulfill the role of model manager for the CH-53E community. MCAS New River is located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The air field is located just west of New River. The base is 15 – 30 minutes north of Surf City and Topsail Beach. It is an hour away from Wilmington, NC, where the USS North Carolina battleship is located. The battleship is located along Cape Fear River, in which the Wilmington bridge crosses.
