Honolulu Police Department Art

Honolulu Police Department Art

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD), established in 1932, serves the island of Oahu from its headquarters at 801 South Beretania Street. Covering a jurisdiction of approximately 596 square miles with a circumference of 137 miles, the HPD oversees public safety for a population of nearly 1,000,000 residents, plus military personnel. Oahu also welcomes millions of visitors annually, with over 5.8 million recorded in 2018 alone. The department is structured into 29 divisions and staffed by 1,820 sworn officers along with 464 civilian personnel as of 2020. The HPD is committed to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of both residents and visitors across this vibrant Hawaiian island.

In 2024 The Honolulu Police Department was instrumental in helping to resolve one of the nation’s oldest (over a half century) and most difficult cold case murders in America, as told in the book: “The Brittle Riddle” – by Jack Anderson. All the proceeds from the sales of this book and this artwork go to: DNA Justice™, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping law enforcement agencies solve their most difficult cases while providing answers to families of victims (including veterans and their families). – Published in cooperation with Squadron Posters / Squadron Books!
