Dover AFB C-17 Globemaster

This Dover AFB C-17 poster is featuring the ‘Monster Mile‘ holding a C-17 Globemaster III.  Dover International Speedway is a race track built in 1969 in Dover, Delaware and nicknamed ‘The Monster Mile’. (See gallery photo) It has held several NASCAR, USAC and IRL Indy Car Series races. The building in the background is Legislative Hall, a famous Dover, Delaware building. This poster is dedicated to the hard working men and women at Dover Air Force Base.  “Fly safe guys” – Nick.

Dover AFB is home to the 436th Airlift Wing of the Air Mobility Command, known as the ‘Eagle Wing‘, and the 512th Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve Command, referred to as the ‘Liberty Wing‘. It was the only base to solely operate the massive C-5 Galaxy, with two active flying squadrons the 3rd Airlift Squadron, which now operates the C-17 Globemaster III, and 9th Airlift Squadron and two Air Force Reserve flying squadrons the 326th Airlift Squadron and the 709th Airlift Squadron.
