Davis-Monthan AFB 43d ECS ACC TRSS Det 3 vintage style military aviation travel poster art by Squadron Posters!
The 43d Electronic Combat Squadron is a United States Air Force unit. Its current assignment is with the 55th Electronic Combat Group, being stationed as a tenant unit at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona as a geographically separated unit from its parent, the 55th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. It operates the EA-37B communications-jamming aircraft. The squadron is one of the oldest in the United States Air Force, its origins dating to 17 August 1917, when it was organized at Kelly Field, Texas. It later served in France as part of the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. The squadron saw combat during World War II, and became part of Tactical Air Command during the Cold War.
Located in Tucson, Arizona, Davis-Monthan AFB is home to the 355th Wing and a cornerstone of U.S. Air Force combat support and electronic warfare operations. Known for its unique desert setting and role in storing and maintaining aircraft at the “Boneyard,” the base also supports active missions across global theaters, including rescue, reconnaissance, and close air support.
The EA-37B is the U.S. Air Force’s newest airborne electronic attack aircraft, evolving from the EC-130H Compass Call. Designed to disrupt enemy command and control systems, the EA-37B delivers precision electronic warfare capabilities, ensuring dominance in the electromagnetic spectrum and supporting modern joint-force operations in contested environments.
