Cannon AFB 33d SOS GRYPHONS vintage style military aviation travel poster art by – Squadron Posters!
During WWII, the 33d provided escort patrols for North Atlantic ferry transports and anti-submarine patrols, fighting German forces until the end of the war. Several times over the next few decades, it was reorganized, deactivated, and reactivated, playing roles in Operation Southern Watch and the Gulf War. It was finally renamed the 33d Special Operations Squadron and activated on May 29, 2009. It has been conducting armed ISR in support of Special Operations Command, flying the MQ-9 over global combat arenas.
