The 435th Contingency Response Squadron is a part of the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing, a tenant wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. It is United States Air Forces in Europe’s sole rapid airbase opening capability – enabling airborne assessment teams, landing zone control teams, C2, mobile aerial port operations, and rapid throughput aircraft maintenance supporting all AMC aircraft (C-130/C-5/C-17). Germany is host to some of the most beautiful and well known castles in the world. The Squadrons’ motto is “To Dare Mighty Things!”.
Ramstein Air Base or Ramstein AB is a United States Air Force base in Rhineland-Palatinate, a state in southwestern Germany. It serves as headquarters for the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa and also for NATO Allied Air Command. Ramstein is located near the town of Ramstein-Miesenbach, which stands outside the base’s west gate, in the rural district of Kaiserslautern. The base supports forward elements deploying to Eastern Europe and Africa. The construction of the air base was a project designed and undertaken by the French Army and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1949 to 1952.
