This artwork embodies the mission and spirit of the United States Space Force’s 320th Recruiting Squadron, the home of Guardian Talent Scouts (GTS) and the sole squadron dedicated to scouting and recruiting the brightest stars to join our constellation of Guardians. The scene beautifully integrates landmarks from both our home at Randolph Air Force Base and our surrounding San Antonio community, including the “Taj Mahal,” the Missing Man Monument, the historic Alamo, and the Tower Life Building. The latter is the world’s largest 8 – sided building, a subtle reference to the original 8 GTSs. Silhouetted space enthusiasts gaze upward, inspired by the night sky and guided by Polaris – the North Star. In this piece, Polaris symbolizes the Space Force’s core values and serves as the guiding light for Guardians.

Aquila, the eagle that delivered Zeus’s thunderbolts in battle, represents the Space Force as the ultimate force multiplier – providing unrivaled warfighting capabilities to the joint force. The eagle, a timeless symbol of federal service, stands vigilant above the globe, reflecting our mission to protect U.S. interests in, from, and to space. The moon rising in the sky signifies the Space Force’s relentless 24/7/365 operational tempo, while the AEHF – 6 satellite – the first Space Force satellite launched into orbit – floats just beyond the observers’ gaze, representing the invisible frontline on which Guardians operate. Through this powerful imagery, we invite America’s brightest to look up, be inspired, and join the constellation.
Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, located in San Antonio, Texas, is a cornerstone of the U.S. Air Force’s mission and heritage. Known as the “Gateway to the Air Force,” it serves as the primary training center for enlisted personnel, hosting Basic Military Training and numerous advanced technical schools. JBSA-Lackland is also home to critical operational units, including global airlift squadrons and cybersecurity commands. The base boasts a rich history and continues to evolve as a hub for innovation and excellence.
