Antisubmarine patrols, May-30 Jul 1942; combat in European Theater of Operations (ETO) and Mediterranean Theater of Operations (MTO), 9 Oct 1942-25 Apr 1945. Converted to a training unit in 1957, but maintained its combat-ready proficiency until inactivated in Sep 1963. Taught B-52 Combat Flight Instructors Course, 1988-1992 and the KC-135 Combat Instructors Course, 1988-1993. Trained US Army and USAF aircrew members to perform their specific roles in E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS), 2002-.
