Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269 (HMLA-269) “Gunrunners” is part of Marine Aircraft Group 29 at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina. They operate the AH-1Z “Viper” and UH-1Y “Venom” helicopters. Located on the coast, HMLA 269 is about 45 min north of historic downtown Wilmington, NC, home of the USS North Carolina battleship and about an hour south of the Cape Lookout Light House. The squadron is being decommissioned at the end of 2022 due to force re-design requirements.
