The 16th Airlift Squadron is part of the 437th Air Mobility Wing at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. It operates the C-17A Globemaster III. They are 20 mins away from downtown Charleston that hosts the iconic Ravenel Bridge and a beautiful Charleston skyline dotted with church steeples. They fly Airdrop normally with 3 C-17s and incorporate SOLL II members within our squadron. The min crew on the C-17 is two pilots and one loadmaster. The 16th’s saying is “Lion Pride”.
