This USAF Thunderbirds Vegas Art was commissioned by the official “Thunderbirds Alumni Association”
The Air Force’s official air demonstration team, designated the 3600th USAF Air Demonstration Unit/Flight, was activated on May 25, 1953. The unit adopted the name “Thunderbirds” influenced in part by the strong Native American culture and folklore from the southwestern United States where Luke Air Force Base is located. Three months later the name “Thunderbirds” was added to the unit designation. Thank you Thunderbirds for being an outstanding example of America’s strength through air power!Â

Nellis Air Force Base is a United States Air Force installation in southern Nevada. Nellis hosts air combat exercises such as Exercise “Red Flag” and close air support exercises such as “Green Flag-West” flown in Military Operations Area airspace, associated with the nearby Nevada Test and Training Range. The base also has the Combined Air and Space Operations Center-Nellis.
