The 95th Fighter Squadron from 1988 – 2010 was a F-15 Eagle squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida (depicted in this artwork). The 95th Fighter Squadron is currently an F-22 Raptor squadron at Tyndall Air Force BaseDuring WWII the 95th flew combat in the European Theater of Operations and the Mediterranean Theater of Operations between 25 December 1942 and 3 May 1945. The squadron was first activated in early 1942 at Harding Field, Louisiana as the 95th Pursuit Squadron, one of the original three squadrons of the 82d Pursuit Group. It soon moved to California where it equipped with P-38 Lightnings and began training with Fourth Air Force as the 95th Fighter Squadron. The 95th has a long and proud history, their nickname is “Boneheads” or “Mr. Bones” and their motto is “Death with Finesse”Tyndall Air Force Base is a United States Air Force Base located 12 miles (19 km) east of Panama City, Florida. The base was named in honor of World War I pilot 1st Lt Frank Benjamin Tyndall.
