The 319th Operations Group (319 OG) is part of the 319th Reconnaissance Wing located at Grand Forks AFB, ND. It operates the RQ-4 GlobalHawk. The RQ-4 Global Hawk is an unmanned (UAV) surveillance aircraft. The RQ-4 provides a broad overview and systematic surveillance using high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and long-range electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors with long loiter times over target areas. It can survey as much as 40,000 square miles of terrain a day. The RQ-4B in an improved version with increased payload, wingspan increased to 130.9 ft (39.9 m) and length increased to 47.7 ft (14.5 m).
