We are officially nominating “CeCe Moore” for the “Presidential Medal of Freedom” and seek your help and support to move this forward! We cannot think of anyone more deserving of our nation’s highest award. Even though the President of the United States has the sole authority to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the public can submit nominations, and the President ultimately decides who receives the honor, based on their own initiative or recommendations from various sources. – We intend to be one of the sources for this initiative.
Here is our nomination letter (below) and you can help this effort by sending a brief message of support through the White House on-line contact form here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ – Thank you!

Re: Nomination of CeCe Moore for the Presidential Medal of Freedom
It is with great admiration and a profound respect for both science and justice that I nominate CeCe Moore, pioneering genetic genealogist, for the Presidential Medal of Freedom—the highest civilian honor in the United States. –
CeCe Moore has revolutionized the field of forensic science and criminal investigation through her innovative work in genetic genealogy. As Chief Genetic Genealogist at Parabon NanoLabs, Ms. Moore has been instrumental in identifying suspects and victims in hundreds of violent crime and cold cases, many of which had remained unsolved for decades. Her groundbreaking approach—merging DNA analysis with traditional genealogical research—has not only brought resolution to grieving families but has also advanced public safety in unprecedented ways.
What sets Ms. Moore apart is not only her scientific acumen but her unwavering ethical commitment. She has been a consistent advocate for responsible use of genetic data, ensuring privacy and transparency remain central to the application of this powerful technology. Her efforts have led to the development of best practices that now guide the industry, helping to build public trust and safeguarding individual rights. –
Specifically, CeCe Moore was extremely instrumental in solving the brutal murder of my sister (Nancy Anderson) who was murdered in Hawaii in 1972. Her murder was one of the oldest cold cases in our nation (over half a century) and it never would have been resolved without the dedication and determination of CeCe Moore. My sister Nancy came from a family of ten children and all of Nancy’s siblings are still alive, fifty years later, to see justice served thanks to CeCe. –
Beyond the lab, Ms. Moore has dedicated herself to public education through media, lectures, and television programming. Her work on the show The Genetic Detective has illuminated the power of science to serve truth and justice, inspiring future generations to pursue careers in genetics, law enforcement, and public service. CeCe Moore’s contributions exemplify the spirit of the Presidential Medal of Freedom: service to others, innovation in science, and the strengthening of the nation’s moral fabric. She has changed lives, solved mysteries once thought unsolvable (such as my sister’s), and brought light to the darkest corners of unresolved trauma for the greater good of the American people.
For her extraordinary impact on American society—where the pursuit of justice meets the promise of science – I respectfully urge you to recognize CeCe Moore with this distinguished honor. –
Jack Anderson (Andy) and the entire Anderson Family
