Minot AFB Weapons Loaders belong to the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot AFB North Dakota, and are responsible for all B-52H weapons loading in support of Combatant Command taskings and Operations Plans. The “2W1” career field (formerly “462”) is tight knit and have a proud culture of compliance and determination, especially at Minot. Bomber weapons loaders work as four-person load crews and each member has a specific function they must perform, making communication and teamwork essential. Weapons loaders claim a grim reaper as their mascot (formerly “Load Toad”) and at Minot are known as “Cold Weather Warriors” as they are tasked with generating aircraft in all types of weather conditions.
