This vintage art deco style military aviation travel poster “MCAS Miramar KC-130J” is dedicated to all the hard working men and women at MCAS Miramar and who fly, maintain and support the KC-130J. The KC-130 is the basic designation for a family of the extended-range tanker version of the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft modified for aerial refueling. The KC-130J is the latest variant operated by the U.S. Marine’s, with 38 delivered out of 47 ordered. It replaced older KC-130F and KC-130R variants, while USMC reserve units still operate 28 KC-130T aircraft.
MCAS Miramar, is home to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, which is the aviation element of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. It is located in Miramar, San Diego, California, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Downtown San Diego.
