The US Air Force’s 1st Air and Space Communication Operations Squadron (1st ACOS), is a part of the 435th Air and Space Communications Group located at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Their mission is to rapidly provide Joint World wide Intelligence Communications Systems and Global Command and Control Systems utilizing specialized infrastructure throughout Europe and Africa. Through their theater network operations center, they deliver, operate and defend theater intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and command and control capabilities. Delivering on the 1 ACOS slogan “Best Done Better,” the unit has earned multiple decorations throughout its 60 year history, including a Navy Meritorious Unit Citation for its critical support to the Apollo Manned Space Flight program.
