10 Field Technical Training Squadron (10 FTTS) was formed at 4 Wing Cold Lake (Alberta, Canada) in 1961 to conduct technical training on the CF-104 Starfighter aircraft. Since that time, 10 FTTS has also provided training on the CF-5 Freedom Fighter, the CT-33 Silver Star, and starting in 1982, the CF-18 Hornet. It now also includes a Detachment located at 3 Wing, Bagotville (Quebec). Their Mission: 10 FTTS will support CF-18 fighter aircraft operations by training highly effective technicians ready to meet any maintenance challenge in the fields of aircraft structure, avionics, air weapons and aviation systems, doing so in both official languages. 10 FTTS is represented by an Owl and their motto is ‘’Habilis Facere’’ (To make proficient).

Location: New Orleans, LAMichael spent his childhood reading such literary classics as “Sgt. Rock” and “Enemy Ace”, spending hours copying the illustrations. He later received a B.A. in Art and still uses his comic book influence along with his love of history and aviation in his work.

4 Wing Cold Lake (CFB Cold Lake) is the busiest fighter base in Canada. It provides general purpose, multi-role, combat capable forces in support of domestic and international roles of Canada’s Air Force. Home of fighter pilot training for the Canadian Forces, 4 Wing attracts Top Gun crews from all over the world to our annual air combat exercise, Maple Flag.
The facility is operated as an air force base by the Royal Canadian Air Force and is approximately 35 km (22 mi) south of the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range, which is used as practicing grounds by CFB Cold Lake’s fighter pilots. The base is one of two in the country housing the CF-18 Hornet fighter, the other being CFB Bagotville. The base’s primary RCAF lodger unit is 4 Wing, commonly referred to as 4 Wing Cold Lake. Civilian passenger service was available through the Medley passenger terminal on the air base. The regularly scheduled air service between Calgary and the civilian terminal was cancelled in June 2011. Unscheduled civilian air traffic is usually directed to Cold Lake Regional Airport.
