The 48th Security Forces Squadron (48 SFS) is part of the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom. It defends the base and protects the F-15 Strike Eagle and HH-60 Pave Hawk while also deploying world wide. RAF Lakenheath is about an hour away from London. The squadron’s adopted nickname is the “Spartans”. The 48th Security Forces Squadron‘s mission is to “Defend the Base and Protect 48th Fighter Wing Assets.” To accomplish this we aim to win the fight before it starts, by being the best trained, equipped, and motivated Defenders in the world.
