333d Squadron (333 Sq) is part of 133d Airwing which is located on Andøya Air Station above the arctic circle in Norway. The island they are situated on is extremely prone to the rough weather during the wintertime, but in the summer months the island is a sight to behold with towering mountains and the midnight sun. 333 Sq is currently operating the P-3C Orion, however they are phasing it out after 54 years of service. Simultaneously they are shutting down Andøya Air Station and moving to Evenes Air Force base. The squadron mascot is “the saint” and everyone affiliated with the squadron are also called “saints”. Andøya is known for its vast amounts of whales roaming the area.

Andøya Air Station (Norwegian: Andøya Flystasjon) is a military air station in Andøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The station is located near the village of Andenes at the northern end of the island of Andøya in the Vesterålen archipelago. 333 Squadron of the Royal Norwegian Air Force is based here with Lockheed P-3C Orions. The squadron is Norway’s only surveillance squadron and stands as the airborne defence of northern Norway.
