The 20th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron (20 EBS) operates the B-52 aircraft based out of Barksdale AFB. As of summer of 202 they recently have returned from Diego Garcia where they conducted the first combat operation from the island in 14 years. Diego Garcia is an island overseas territory of the United Kingdom. It is a militarised atoll just south of the equator in the central Indian Ocean.
