20th Fighter Wing Nose Art
The20th Fighter Wing (20 FW) is the host unit at Shaw Air Force Base South Carolina. The wing is assigned to Air Combat Command’s Ninth Air Force. Their mission is to provide, project and sustain combat-ready aircraft in conventional and anti-radiation suppression of enemy air defenses, strategic attack, counter-air, air interdiction, joint maritime operations and combat search-and-rescue missions. Their motto is “Victory by Valor”.
Wild Weasel is a code name given by the United States Armed Forces, specifically the US Air Force, to an aircraft, of any type, equipped with radar-seeking missiles and tasked with the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses: destroying the radar and Surface-to-Air Missile installations of enemy air defense systems.
